Brave New World

Where
American Express Community Stadium
Village Way, Brighton BN1 9BL
Spaces
This event brings together business leaders from Sussex and the surrounding area to share and challenge ideas and assumptions about what the future holds for businesses and their leaders. Is the future only for the brave? And what does being brave really mean?

Technology is changing the way we live and work but that doesn’t mean that humans will become redundant – maybe they will become the differentiator, the new killer app, so to speak.
Overview
This event will examine the future of people in an increasingly automated world.
- What effect will the emerging technologies of automation have on people?
 - How can we use these technologies to our advantage for business growth?
 - What are the opportunities for businesses and individuals who embrace technology but with a strong focus on the continuing importance of people?

The keynote speaker will be Diana Garnham who served as CEO of the Science Council for 10 years and has been involved in many science and technology policy and media campaigns.
Writer and broadcaster, Simon Fanshawe OBE, will chair the event and share his knowledge on equalities, leadership and social trends.
Throughout the day, other experts will share their perspectives through presentations, interactive workshops and panel discussions creating opportunities for learning throughout the event – enabling you to take away new ideas and perspectives to equip your businesses and employees so that your business can develop and grow in a rapidly changing world.
This is a partner event which Santander Business and Santander Universities division are collaborating on with MDHUB and the University of Brighton.
About MDHUB
MDHUB is a peer-to-peer business growth network for managing directors and senior board directors in the South of England. Established in Brighton & Hove in 2002, their organisation has now grown to support entrepreneurs and their organisations across Sussex.
They are a network that helps leaders develop by bringing them together in curated groups of like-minded peers where they find the solutions and support they need to solve business problems, offering a comprehensive programme of leadership and management training, non-executive consultancy and coaching.
About the University of Brighton
Through partnerships, the University of Brighton engages in the co-production of research and enterprise that addresses strategically important questions, tackles global challenges, solves practical problems and seeks to improve people’s lives and environments.
They recognise that today’s challenges are not limited by the boundaries of traditional disciplines. They also recognise that fresh thinking, interdisciplinary research and collaborative partnerships with industry, institutions and communities enable them to bring expertise from different fields to address society’s most pressing issues to make a tangible impact. The University is a Santander University Partner.
Why attend?
This event would suit business owners keen to discuss how to use technological advancements to their advantage in business growth with their peers in the local business community (other MDs, CEOs and senior directors, business graduates, alumni and academics from the University of Brighton).
There’ll also be an opportunity to network with the other delegates to share learnings and experiences.
