Overview

Banham Zoo was opened by Martin Goymour in 1968, and this year celebrates 50 years of wildlife conservation. An award-winning family attraction in Norfolk, Banham Zoo has over 2,000 animals set in 50 acres of beautiful parkland and gardens.

In 2013, the Zoo, along with its sister park Africa Alive! near Lowestoft, Suffolk, became part of the Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA). By becoming a registered charity this has enabled the parks to secure their long term futures, with the primary aims of the advancement of education, zoology, animal welfare, environmental protection and continue with the important work undertaken for wildlife conservation across the world.

About the masterclass

Delegates at this masterclass will have the opportunity to learn how this well-known well-loved zoo has developed over the years to face the challenges of family succession, conservation and competing leisure activities. They’ll also hear how their operations are dedicated to sustainability, and how they build relationships with partners to ensure the continuation of their legacy.

Join our masterclass to find out more about this aspirational charity at the heart of the Norfolk community from their senior management team:

  • Martin Goymour, Founder
  • Professor David Field, CEO
  • Martin Dupee, Director of Operations
  • Gary Batters, Director of Conservation & Education

Audience

This masterclass would best suit businesses who have advanced beyond the start-up phase and are looking for that next phase of growth. You must be a key influencer within your business - either owner, director or senior functions lead, but you don’t need to be operating in the leisure sector to learn from the experience of ZSEA’s senior leadership team.
