Birmingham-based Dunfra Solutions to double workforce following funding from Santander
Birmingham-based Dunfra Solutions Ltd (“Dunfra”), a leading provider of commercial, industrial and domestic electrical installations has received £131,500 in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial to purchase larger headquarters in Birmingham.

The business was originally started by Michael Fraser and Duncan Watkins, both electrical engineers, in 2014. It has grown rapidly and now has six members of staff and has completed installations with major UK businesses including Costco and retail giant House of Fraser. Dunfra Solutions Ltd completed the installation of Costco’s flagship distribution centre last year. The business has also recently started sponsoring local under 7’s football team, Boldmere St Michaels.
The new site will allow Michael and Duncan to nearly double the workforce to 11 people over the next 12 months. As part of the company’s long-term growth strategy, the extra space will also allow the management team at Dunfra to host client meetings to negotiate contracts for larger corporate firms.
Michael Fraser, Joint Founder, Dunfra Solutions Ltd, said:
We have enjoyed a successful three years of trading as a small operation and are now ready to enter a new phase of growth. The premises will provide us with much needed space to house equipment and, importantly, allow us to expand our workforce. Santander provided us with a one-to-one relationship manager who worked alongside us throughout the purchase and who we plan to continue working closely with throughout the next stage of our journey.
Chris Gagg, Relationship Director, Santander Corporate & Commercial said:
Michael and Duncan are entrepreneurs who set up the business from scratch, having identified an opportunity to combine their skillset and provide a high standard of service to their customers – as evidenced by the firm’s blue chip client base. The new site in Tamworth will help them to obtain a greater market share as they negotiate larger contracts and we look forward to working with them as they achieve their ambitions.
