Budge Brands Acquires Birmingham Distribution Centre Following £1 Million in Funding from Santander

Solihull-based Budge Brands Ltd is to open a new 73,000 sq ft distribution centre, following £1 million in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial.

Solihull-based Budge Brands Ltd, the brand owner of Premier Estates Wine, House of Premier Vodka and World Traveller Wines, is to open a new 73,000 sq ft distribution centre near the centre of Birmingham following £1 million in funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial. The move is in response to a significant increase in demand from the firm’s clients, which include Booker, Costcutter, Landmark, Blakemore, P&H, NISA, Home Bargains, B&M Stores and Marstons Plc.

Established in 2005, Budge Brands has continued to grow by successfully importing from across Europe and wholesaling into the UK. The firm saw a 7% increase in turnover and a 67% growth in net profit as of the last financial year. To capitalise on its growth momentum, Budge Brands rolled out its first UK advertising campaign earlier this year and this has resulted in further demand and strong growth – the firm is forecasting a significant increase in turnover for the next financial year. The tongue-in-cheek ad created by Saatchi Masius has featured over 20 million times online with over 2.5 million views on Facebook, 2.5 million views by video-on-demand and over 300,000 views on YouTube.

Budge Brands has benefitted from strong support from Santander Corporate & Commercial: along with the funding to support the new Birmingham depot, the firm attended the bank’s London Breakthrough Moments Box last November, which resulted in an introduction to the advertising agency Saatchi Masius. Budge Brands has also taken part in a US business breakthrough roundtable with a view to joining the next Santander US Trade Mission.
