A Masterclass in building mobile apps: AppInstitute
Santander Breakthrough held a Masterclass at the AppInstitute, Nottingham, for ambitious and growing businesses looking to learn how to build and manage iPhone and Android apps, without any programming or technical skills.

AppInstitute is at the forefront of the mobile app platform industry, helping small businesses leverage the power of mobile app marketing. They solve a significant and growing problem by removing both the technical and financial barriers of entry for SMEs into the mobile app market, enabling businesses to drive transactions, encourage loyalty and streamline communications.
The first part of the Masterclass provided businesses with an overview of the need for SMEs to digitise, why mobile is now a huge part of digital marketing with 50% of web traffic coming from mobile devices (+30% year-on-year change) and the AppInstitute showcased examples of best practices when building your own app.
The afternoon session was very much hands on and delegate-led, where all businesses were let loose to build their own apps. AppInstitute team members were on hand to provide guidance and advice on the aesthetics and content of their apps. This said, with AppInstitute’s platform being “the easiest way to create your own mobile app”, little support was required!
Once happy with the appearance of their apps, attendees were taken through the few simple steps required to publish their creations to the app stores, as well as how best to manage live apps, taking into account app store optimisation, how to measure success, analytics and CRM.
As part of the Masterclass, businesses who attended the day have been offered one year of support from the AppInstitute for free (worth around £300). So watch this space… we wish all Masterclass attendees success with their new apps.
Talking about his attendance at the Santander Masterclass at the AppInstitute:
Joe Lynch, Stewart, Fletcher and Barrett, said:
We intend to use the app as another avenue to interact with our clients, improve referrals and ensure we can target our client base more effectively with offers/services unique to them.
We offer a range of masterclasses, workshops and partner events. See what’s coming up.
