Santander supports independent veterinary group open ninth practice
Inglis Vets headquartered in Dunfermline, Scotland, has opened a new practice in Kirkcaldy with funding from Santander Business Banking. The official opening of the practice was carried out by local Fife Flyers hockey star Peter LeBlanc and his canine companion Luna.
Founded over 50 years ago in Halbeath, Dunfermline, Inglis Vets has over the years worked closely with Edinburgh University to develop new healthcare solutions for pets. The university places all their third-year students in the Cowdenbeath practice under a joint agreement with the business. As a result of its R&D project, the business has launched a new Healthy Pets Centre for veterinary care, focusing on new treatments such as hydrotherapy and physiotherapy for pets. The centre was featured on the BBC Television documentary series ‘More Creatures Great & Small’.
With the support from Santander, Inglis Vets will continue to develop its services which also includes pet insurance plans. The Active Care Plan and Lifetime Care Plan, which now have more than 5,000 members, heavily discount routine treatments and other services, and spread that discounted cost over a year with a simple payment plan.
Alongside its veterinary work, the group also takes pride in its charitable contributions and provided more than £50,000 in discounts to pet charities in 2016. It also set up the Inglis Vets Malawi fund to support the work that the LSPCA does to improve the welfare of domestic and farm animals in Malawi.
